Finding My Forte

It all began with the stroke of a pen aged a little more than six, and it was while I wrote those silly stories that I knew I’d got my fix.

I spent my childhood and teenage years writing convoluted prose, questioning teachers, swotting up, in books I stuck my nose.

I studied hard at university to gain an honours degree, but upon graduation I chose a different path that at the time was right for me.

Eleven interesting years went by, I’d done an awful lot, from running bars to fighting fires, I travelled the world, the lot.

It was by ending up in Australia in an attempt to find solitary wealth, and traversing parts of South East Asia that I knew I’d found myself.

Leaving my much loved alternative life in the Southern Hemisphere – a life I’d go back to in a heartbeat – I really had to think of my career.

At the (tender) age of 32 I decided this was it, it was time to stop the galavanting of my youth and knuckle down a bit.

I embarked upon a one year course to gain an important qualification, it would take some sacrifices and damn hard work and heaps of dedication.

Feeling utterly determined – the most positive I’d felt in years – I knew completing this year of study would be worth the sweat and tears.

So as I sit at a desk in a learning environment taking notes and ingesting every element, the passion in me rises once again – writing is my true testament.
