Chasing Amy-Lou

I never wanted to fall like this, I never wanted to cry;
Tears for happiness that’s so far away, tears for you and I.
Your presence makes me feel so safe, your eyes I could swim in for days;
The way you smile, the way you talk, the way you constantly amaze.
I only ever wanted to fall in love, for others it’s simple and true;
But I chose the one I couldn’t quite reach, I chose to fall for you.
The distance between us in miles and years, makes it hard to find common ground;
But the way I feel when we’re alone, I can’t imagine not having you around.
My heart is already breaking in two, the shattered fragments are lost;
You’re everything I want and need, but tell me, at what cost?
How can we be and how can we live if we’re a million miles apart;
Each time we say goodbye, I crack and die under the weight of my fragile heart.
I pray for a miracle, I hope for much more, only we can make the final call;
But as I seek reassurance, the doubt creeps in and the tears forever will fall.
